Washing machine does not drain out water

If the water will not drain from the washing machine, the cause may be one of the following:

• The fault may be due to a blockage of the pump filter or the pump housing. Clean the filter and check for foreign objects in the pump and pump housing.
• The fault may be due to the pump wing not being able to spin. Use your finger or a screwdriver to see if the pump wing can spin. If it cannot spin, you must attempt to find what is blocking the wing and remove it.
• The fault may be due to a blocked-up outlet hose or drain. Rinse the hose and drain.
• The fault may be due to a blocked-up sump hose. The sump hose is a large flexible hose between the tub and the pump. If there is water in the machine, even after taking out the pump filter, then the sump hose is blocked.
• If all the above is in working order, the fault may be due to a defective pump. If the pump is defective you will often experience that the water will not drain and the water will thereby remain in the machine. If the pump is broken, you can find a new pump for your washing machine here.
