Water out of the detergent drawer

If water comes out of the washing machine's detergent drawer, the cause may be one of the following:

The error can be caused by a soap clog in the detergent drawer, which occurs when soap or fabric softener is overdosed for a long time. You can try to remedy the problem by pouring warm water into the detergent drawer. Leave the warm water in there and wait and see if the soap clog dissolves. If this does not solve the problem, it will be necessary to detach the detergent hose and soak it in lukewarm water.
If there is water in the fabric softener compartment after washing, this indicates that the filter is clogged with fabric softener/soap residue. The siphon has the function of using negative pressure to suck fabric softener out of the fabric softener compartment – a bit like sticking a hose into a basin and sucking.
You will find the siphon in the detergent drawer itself in the fabric softener compartment. The siphon is a plug found around a tube molded into the drawer. The plug may be a part of an insert and then the plug will be underneath this. So, to find the siphon, look for a part that is not molded into the drawer itself. It can often have a different color to the rest of the drawer. On most machines, you will be able to remove the siphon and clean it with lukewarm water before refitting it. Remember to also clean the pipe on which the siphon sits.
If only a little water comes out of the detergent drawer, the fault may be due to the small holes in the water distributor – the lid above the detergent drawer – being calcified. Disassemble and descale the water distributor to remedy the problem. In some cases, you will be able to poke the scale out of the nozzles with a toothpick, in other cases, descaling agent will be needed. You can descale the water distributor with this descaler.
