Error code list for Miele washing machine

  • F1

    Cause:

    NTC-sensor error.

    Solution:

    Replace the NTC sensor.

  • F2

    Cause:

    NTC-sensor error.

    Solution:

    Replace the NTC sensor.

  • F3

    Cause:

    Water supply error.

    Solution:

If the washing machine does not take in water at all, the fault code is probably due to a faulty solenoid valve. You can find a new solenoid valve here. If the washing machine takes in water, the error is probably due to the level control, which detects the water level, being faulty and needs to be replaced. Be aware that on older washing machines the level control is analogue, in which case you can just replace it. However, on newer washing machines the level control is part of the print/control and in this case you will therefore need to replace this. Contact us if you are in doubt - remember to provide as much information as possible from the washing machine's rating plate.

  • F11

    Cause:

    Cannot drain water.

    Solution:

    Replace the drain pump.

  • F15

    Cause:

Water temperature too high or water supply error.

    Solution:

The error code may be due to the washing machine being connected to the hot water tap. Connect to cold water tap instead. The error code can also be caused by no water entering the washing machine at all. Start by checking that water comes out of the tap at the connection point. If it does, the lack of water is probably due to a faulty solenoid valve or aquastop. You can find a new solenoid valve here and a new aquastop here. If the washing machine takes in water, the fault may be due to the level control, which measures the water level, being faulty. You can find a new level control here.

  • F16

    Cause:

    Too much detergent.

    Solution:

The error code usually occurs if foam is formed due to too much detergent. In this case, the foam will be able to come out through the soap compartment. Use less soap when washing.

  • F19

    Cause:

    Flow sensor error.

    Solution:

    Replace the level sensor.

  • F20

    Cause:

    Heating error.

    Solution:

The error code may be due to the heating element being faulty. But there can also be other reasons - we recommend that you search for symptoms via our troubleshooting guide.
